the grocery store, and when I entered, a great man hastily. As they passed me,

so often that we should never think about it. But this time, I asked myself:
why do you apologize? The slight collision was not my fault, so my answer

None of us have their answers planned
to grow - they happened. The decisions that we take milliseconds in such
reactions reveal a form of bias that goes back to our past. Individually, each

define who we are and how our lives develop.
Psychological science has now shown
exactly how these biases are shaped by our memories. In many ways, this process
can be very useful. It helps us to effectively analyze all the social
information that we face, to make decisions about how to respond and to perform
satisfactory behaviors that keep our survival. After all, we can not stop and
think seriously about every social interaction we have in a day. Our
sophisticated and effective adult brain is only based on what has already
worked for us. Someone is walking and said hello? The head movement seemed to
be a success before, so do it again. Someone is coming against you? Being
educated, out of the way and avoiding conflicts has always proven to be the
least resistance path, so we will get there.
But remember: these biases are biased
towards the earliest memories of our teenage years. Our adult brain began to
form to help us survive in the hallway. The problem is that we left high school
a long time ago, and our brain never had the grade. This is probably the
reason, sometimes, something unusual happens, be it lack of communication, a
mental problem or an embarrassing moment. It is at times like these when our
history and diffusion are exposed, and the legacy of our teenage experiences
