Meizu uses the Helio P40 processor for future devices in 2018

Taiwan's semiconductor company MediaTek introduced a new chipset last month called Helio P30 and this SoC is already implemented by a handful of manufacturers such as OPPO, Vivo and Meizu, and so on. However, the company intends to introduce a new processor called Helio P40. It is said that the Helio P40 has a hexacore design and will be built in the new 12nm TSM process.

According to the new report, it seems that Meizu plans to power its devices to come with this new SoC. In addition, Meizu should introduce some new devices in the first quarter of 2018, which would be perfect to launch this new MediaTek chipset.

Although the details about these new smartphones are rare at this time, it seems that these devices give tough competition to Qualcomm's Snapdragon 670 devices. For those of you who do not know, Snapdragon 670 SoC is also quite new and devices powered by this SoC will also start to appear on the market in the first quarter of 2018.

In addition, in case you do not know, Meizu has recently signed an agreement with Qualcomm for the use of its processors. Li Nan, Meizu's vice president, said the company's association would continue to coexist with Qualcomm, Samsung and MediaTek.

Going back to the new Meizu smartphone, apart from the fact that it could be powered by a SoC MediaTek, we still have no other information. However, we expect it to be a solid mid-term offer for the company. And in case you are looking for an emblematic device, they have recently released the new Meizu Pro 7, which is worth looking at.
